Buttock Augmentation with Implants is a surgical procedure that enhances the size and shape of the buttocks. Dr. Vincent Marin is a board-certified plastic surgeon and member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. His extensive knowledge and decades of experience continuously result in hundreds of successful buttock augmentations to a clientele of patients from every corner of the world.
Cost & Financing
The costs for buttock augmentation surgery in La Jolla and San Diego starts at $9,000. Overall costs will depend on numerous medical expenses including the technique used, type of implants, anesthesia costs, and operating room fees.
Since buttock augmentation is considered cosmetic surgery, most health insurance providers will not cover your finances. However, we offer financing options that can be tailored to your needs.
Here at Marin Aesthetics, we accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards.
Butt Augmentation vs. Brazilian Butt Lift
Dr. Marin offers two surgical options for patients seeking to enhance the contour of their buttocks: Buttock augmentation with implants and natural augmentation via fat grafting — a procedure popularly called the Brazilian Butt Lift.
Buttock augmentation with implants is ideal for patients who have an insufficient amount of excess fat in the body required for a successful transfer of fat to the buttocks. Dr. Marin utilizes solid silicone implants, unlike those used for breast augmentation surgery, in order to surgically improve the shape and size of your buttocks. This allows for increased stress on the implant from sitting or the impact of the strong gluteal muscles.
Before & During the Surgery
During your initial consultation at Marin Aesthetics, Dr. Marin will assess your candidacy for the procedure surgery and determine what implant type and placement will be best suited for your needs.
On the day of your surgery, you will meet with an experienced anesthesiologist from the Scripps Memorial La Jolla and Dr. Marin prior to the procedure.
Dr. Marin will mark the appropriate incision sites on your body and you will then be taken to the operating room where the anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia.
Once comfortably sedated, a small incision is made in the intergluteal cleft (the space between the buttocks) and implants are inserted into spaces created either underneath the buttock skin and fat or in-between the buttock muscles.
Buttock augmentation with implants is an outpatient procedure and takes 2 — 3 hours to complete.
WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR
Buttock Augmentation with Implants
Recovery & Scars
On average, it takes 2 — 3 weeks to recover from buttock augmentation. Swelling and bruising are normal and can be treated with doctor-prescribed medication.
It is recommended that you avoid sitting or lying on your back for 1 — 2 weeks, after which Dr. Marin will advise you to use soft cushions when sitting to protect the buttocks and newly created implant pocket.
Additionally, you must abstain from strenuous activities such as household chores and exercises for 2 — 4 weeks, or upon Dr. Marin’s clearance. Once Dr. Marin gives you permission, you may return to work and gradually resume daily activities and regular exercise.
Your New Look after Butt Implants
Final results from the surgery will be evident within 1 — 3 months, leaving you with a better balanced and shapely body. The implants produce an immediate and significant improvement in the appearance of the gluteal area and hips.
Since the implant is silicone, there is no risk for the eventual loss of the “volume” or shape if you gain or lose weight. In a bikini or even thong, there should be no visible evidence of any surgical incision.
