Difference Between Botox and Jeuveau

Both Botox and Jeuveau are derived from microorganisms that create a “toxin” that temporarily relaxes the face’s muscles. These products reduce the wrinkles and frown lines on the overlying skin while preventing new ones from forming. However, Jeuveau’s unique properties make it ideal for use in the area between the eyebrows specifically. Meanwhile, Botox is more versatile and can improve facial dynamics, reduce tendencies for grinding teeth, TMJ pain, control overactive sweat glands, or even treat chronic migraines.

The Botox Treatment

Botox injections are a quick, in-office procedure that takes 10 – 15 minutes to complete, depending on the number of syringes being used. Dr. Marin will first identify the ideal injection sites. Small doses of local anesthetic or topical cream may be applied to the target areas, but most Botox injections are so well-tolerated that additional numbing agents are not needed.

The results of Botox injections usually manifest 5 – 7 days after treatment. You will notice a more youthful aesthetic with a smoother forehead, softened frown lines and crow’s feet, and improved brow position.

However, Botox starts to lose effectiveness after four months, during which you will regain some control over the treated muscles, and new wrinkles may manifest. Further treatments are often required every few months to maintain results fully.
